The following is an address
given by
ELDRIDGE CLEVER
at a rally
in his honor
given a few days
before he was scheduled
to return to jail.

to my parole officer today, and he told me that on Wednesday
the 27th he wanted me to call him up about 8:30 in the
morning, so he could tell me where to meet him so he could transport
me to San Quentin. They want to have a parole revocation
hearing, and I guess they think they have a right to do that. They
certainly are proceeding as though they have a right. Having had
some experience with them, I know that when they have you in
their clutches, they proceed with what they want to do whether
they have a right or not.

I think they make the same mistake looking at prison [continued]
